The stamps blend modern and traditional styles and are beautiful, with papers in lovely sugar almond colors.
I wanted to create a unique card, so I chose to move away from standard card blanks. I had a look through my Adorable Scoreboard Crafting Handbook from Hunkydory and decided to create a centre stepper card. I scored a piece of Lynda Chapman's 250gsm Smooth White card using the Adorable Scoreboard at my chosen measurements. As directed in the book, I cut the card in the correct places and folded it along the score lines. I used a piece of decorative card from the free gift to cover the topper area and the two rear side folds.
For the middle tent folds on the sides, I decided to use the stamp with a cluster of stars which I inked with Memento Lulu Lavender which matched well with the decorative paper. Before stamping, I cut Lynda’s cardstock to the correct size and used a stamping platform to ensure the stars were placed identically on both sides. To stick the panels on I am actually testing out some new glue, Tattered Lace Vellum Glue. Even though I'm not using vellum for this project, I heard a Tattered Lace demonstrator on Create and Craft say she uses it for all her paper crafts, so I decided to give it a try. So far I am pretty happy with it, you get wiggle time and it sets well.
I decided to use the included Embossing Folder on the front of the card. I used Lynda’s cardstock with my Gemini to emboss, then distressed the design and panel with my Groove Tool and Lulu Lavender. I cut a piece of cardstock to size, stamped "Shine Bright" in Lulu Lavender, and added some distressing around it.
I measured the desired size for the topper and cut a 9 cm scalloped square from Sheena’s Stamping Card and a 9.5 cm scalloped square from Silver Mirror Card with my ScanNCut. On the stamping card, I used my Stamping Platform to stamp the image and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The image was coloured using some of my new Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Marker. I then went over the halo and around the edge of the star on the wand with my Clear Star Sakura Gelly Roll.
I attached the stamped image to a silver mirror card background using Collall All Purpose Glue, then added the finished topper to the front of the card with more glue.
