I loved the idea behind this diamond painting. The horse-drawn cart piled with hay felt perfect as we headed towards autumn, and I really enjoyed working with all those warm browns, oranges, greens and muted purples.
Unfortunately, I was much less pleased with the finished picture. At 30 × 40 cm there simply wasn't enough space to reproduce this amount of detail clearly, particularly around the people and horses, and the result looks much more pixelated than I had hoped.
That is especially disappointing when a diamond painting represents around 12 hours of work. I enjoyed those hours, so I certainly don't consider them wasted, but it can still be a little deflating when the finished piece doesn't reflect the time that went into creating it.
It has also taught me something useful for future purchases: with smaller diamond paintings, I’ll look for simpler designs with fewer tiny details and save more intricate scenes for larger canvases.
